Day 1: Seattle to LaGrande, OR

Parked in Seattle and eager to hit the road with Spring's Sponge Bob travel mug and stuffed animal... um, what was the name? "Lumpy"? "Loopy"? :P Hey, there's our friends Seattle Biodiesel in their own cameo behind the rig. Thank you Todd, Eric, and all of the wonderful people of the Biodiesel community that have been so generous!

Post Black Wagon event. We LOVED how kind and wonderful the ladies of this ideal Portland location were! They gave us music for the road! We'll definitely be doing events with them in the future.

News Flash: Two girls along the Columbia River make tough guy curious about our fueling process. He looked great in 'mint!

A glimpse of the scenery.

Day 1: April 12, 2007
Spring and I are on the road… finally! It’s amazing the amount of stress involved in getting a project like this off the ground. There are so many people to thank. First we want to thank our extremely supportive and enthusiastic co-workers who helped to propel the trip to a once unfathomable commencement date. All of their good luck tokens, hugs, and loving support will carry us through this incredible journey. We’re not even to Portland, but the magnitude of what we’re embarking upon has set in as a reality. It’s a little wet on the road but with Brenda’s (Thanks Brenda!) Beastie Boys Beats and more blasting on our boosters, no weather will prevent us from experiencing the full enjoyment of this once in a lifetime opportunity. Our mission is clear and will become better defined on our first stop in P-Town. We’ll be a little late, but at least we’ll be arriving in BabyLegs Style!

Event 1: Black Wagon, Portland, OR
Quote of the day: “Today’s baby doesn’t wear tights, today’s baby wears BabyLegs!” as said by a passerby mother we gave BL on the street. She purchased her first pair of BabyLegs in Ashland, OR where the saleswoman revealed to her that tights were an official dead trend.

Spring and I LOVED Portland!! What a way to kick off this trip right! Sarah Shaoul of Black Wagon was absolutely wonderful and introduced us to the delicious homemade tortillas and tacos of Por Que No and why not, we’d only had bits of organic donuts, a mini Luna Bar or two- Fresh, delicious food was just what the doctor ordered, but, I k now… this isn’t a food review. The event was fantastic! We showed up approximately 40 minutes late and the lovely team of Black Wagon blocked off a place for us to park right in front of their store. The place was buzzing with hipster mommas and their equally groove & funk kids. I was instantly a fan of Owen who sported his Mohawk as though his momma gave birth to the warm sounds of the Sex Pistols. The kids LOVE the Luna and Z Bars. The moms LOVE the free BabyLegs. The time flew by with plenty of buzz and passion for our product. Megan, one of the associates of Black Wagon loves to upsell their rocker “Blondie” onesies with our Cinnamon BabyLegs. We definitely felt very welcomed and appreciated for all of our Green Car Company coloring books and information. There are multiple events taking place in Portland through the summer. We’ll have to keep in touch and participate whenever possible. I love Portland. Sarah made mention that she doesn’t often receive product info from her rep. We should change this.

Back on the road- on I-84 my eyes are finally fighting me… time to close them so that I may be of assistance to Spring.
